We believe that all dogs deserve an amazing family home that provides lots of cuddles, playtime, and an overwhelming amount of love. A Guardian Home is where one of our Maltese or Toy Poodle puppies go to live with their forever home family at approximately 8-12 weeks old, and returns to Historic Triangle Doodles on occasion for breeding.

 

We believe this is a win-win situation as the Guardian Family has the opportunity to raise a happy and healthy dog in their home, in exchange for allowing us to breed a handful of litters. We provide support and guidance along the way. At the end of the Guardian Program, the dog belongs to the family 100% for the duration of his or her life.

 

The focus of Historic Triangle Doodles is to produce happy puppies who will serve as incredible companions, and provide families with amazing dogs who will be loved, cherished and well-cared for their entire lives.

Guardian Home Qualifications:

* Guardians must live in Hampton Road, within a reasonable driving distance from Charles City Virginia.

* Guardians must be willing to participate in the Guardian Program for the first few years of the dog’s life, at minimum.

* Guardians must have previous dog experience and love dogs.

* Guardians must keep the dog on a leash or in a fenced area when outdoors.

* Guardians must be willing to train the dog the very basic obedience commands (no, off, down, sit, bedtime).

* Guardians must ensure that the dog is well-socialized with adults, children and other animals.

* Guardians must provide standard/basic veterinary care when needed. (Breeder is responsible for any and all veterinary visits related to breeding.)

* Guardians must feed the dog quality dog food selected by the breeder.

* Guardians must be able and willing to learn, identify and notify us right away when a female begins her heat cycle.

* Guardians must not allow a female in heat near intact males.

* Guardians must not allow a male guardian to breed with unapproved females.

* Guardians must be willing to provide transportation for annual health evaluations, breeding and whelping periods.

* Guardians must communicate, cooperate and coordinate with the breeder regarding appointments that include health evaluations, mating, whelping, and any other breeding related essentials.
